Roof Visualiser
Roof Visualiser
Choose a roof shape, a roofing system and a colour from the COLORSTEEL® or KiwiColour range, and see them together on a house before you talk to us about your roof.
What you can choose
The visualiser draws these on a house when JavaScript is switched on in your browser. Without it, this is the list of what it offers.
Roof shapes
- Gable - two slopes that meet at a ridge.
- Hip - a slope on every side, meeting at hips and a ridge.
- Mono pitch - one slope from a high wall to a low one.
- Low pitch - a near-flat roof behind a parapet.
Roofing systems
- Corrugate longrun - longrun metal in the classic corrugate profile.
- Trapezoidal longrun - longrun metal in a sharper, ribbed profile.
- Standing seam and tray - long, uninterrupted seams and few visible fixings.
- Concrete and clay tiles - a traditional tiled texture.
- Membrane - for flat and low pitch roofs. It is drawn on the low pitch roof.
Roof colours
Longrun, standing seam and tray roofing are drawn in the colours of two ranges of prepainted steel. Each colour has the name its manufacturer gives it. Tiles and membrane are drawn in plain colours.

A guide, not a specification
The house is a drawing, not a photograph of one of our jobs, and it is the same house whatever you choose. It shows how a profile and a colour read together on a roof. It cannot show your home's pitch, its junctions or its surroundings.
Colours on a screen are a guide only. The colours for longrun, standing seam and tray roofing come from two ranges of prepainted steel, the COLORSTEEL® colour range and the KiwiColour colour range, and each is shown here as its manufacturer shows it on its own website. Both manufacturers say that a colour on a screen is not an exact match for the painted steel. Before you choose, ask for a real sample and look at it outdoors, in natural light.
A drawing cannot show a finish either. COLORSTEEL® lists FlaxPod® in two finishes, and the matte one looks the same here as the other. Not every colour comes in every finish or every thickness of steel, so we confirm what is available for your roof when we quote. The colours for tiles and membrane are plain descriptions, not product colour names.
What suits your roof also depends on things a drawing cannot weigh up: the pitch, the wind zone, how close you are to the coast and how much rain the roof has to carry. Those decide the profile, the substrate, the coating and the fixings, and they are what we look at when we quote.
The names COLORSTEEL® and KiwiColour, and the colour names in each range, belong to their manufacturers.
Roofing systems
Longrun metal roofing
Clean lines, light weight and a wide choice of profiles, from classic corrugate to sharp trapezoidal. It suits complex roofs with hips, valleys and several penetrations.
Standing seam and tray
Minimal visible fixings and crisp, architectural lines for modern designs. The long, uninterrupted seams suit pavilions and mono pitch roofs.
Concrete and clay tiles
Traditional texture and strong street appeal, in a variety of profiles and colours. Tiles suit classic or Mediterranean styles.
Membranes for low pitch roofs
For flat roofs, warm roof build ups and internal gutters. A membrane roof is often paired with parapets for a clean outline.
